PBS Youth Explode 2008

Eastern Communications Anniversary Party
I received an invite from Eastern Communications for their 130th Anniversary Party at the Dusit Hotel in Makati City. Being one of the finalists for their graphic design contest, I was required to attend the formal occasion. 

WordCamp Philippines 2008
I've been using Wordpress for, I think, two or three years. It's been an on-and-off affair (unlike my real affairs which are basically off-and-off) because I've been trying on several affairs -- er, blog services like Blogger, 21Publish, Multiply, etc.

PBS Poster Making Contest
I was attending the SPEED Video Seminar in the PCEC Compound when my officemate, Rachalle, informed me of this contest. I've never done graphic design in a long, long time so this was both difficult and challenging for me.

Nine Waves Retreat
As part of our annual Prayer Day - Office Retreat, the managers decided to have the event at a resort near Quezon City.

SOS (Save Our SMS)
My old Nokia 6600 phone got infected with a virus. Though the phonebook was saved, some of the SMS was lost. It was a good thing I kept all my good text messages in my computer. Most of these are from Vanessa, some from my mother and Ann Janet. 

Seven (The List Not The Movie)
Vanessa Velasco (also known as Nechie, Nechie Kadal, Van and other aliases she uses to elude the InterPol) posted a request for me to fill in my list of likes and dislikes. Initially, I made it as a comment on one of her many blogs floating in cyberspace.  

Mountain Woods Retreat
After our 50th Anniversary Dinner Banquets and Radio Rally at the Cuneta Astrodome, the managers treated Dr. Kroll and the rest of the staff to a much-deserved rest and recreation at the Mountain Woods Resort in Subic.

Robberies in Meycauayan
This is a reaction to a bulletin in my Friendster account regarding the incidences of car-napping in and around the tri-subdivision area of St. Francis, St. Michael and Meralco Village. Several houses away, a neighbor’s Starex van (just bought) was taken at gun-point.

Hi, classmate. Di ko pwedeng malimutan si Jonnie. Angat ika nga. Siya lang ang pwedeng mag-report na kahit tatlong oras. Hindi nauubusan.

Sobrang resourceful at talented. Lahat na yata ng kailangan para sa presentation meron 'yan. Kaya nga swerte ako kapag ka-group ko 'yan eh. Less effort ako.

Hayy, ang sarap alalahanin ng PUP days kahit di na tayo nagkikita. Malapit ng mag 20 years -- he he he. Nabisto na edad. One year to go and life begins at 40 -- he he he.

Ang daya ng iba nating classmate. Nag-papabata sa Friendster -- he he he. Sana magka-reunion tayo. I-organize mo kaya.

Hi, Jonnie! Kamusta na ang favorite kong tellermate (next to Bobby and Cris).

Nakaka-miss those teller times natin, puwera yung shortages ha! Lalo na yung times na hindi tayo nag-usap dahil sa dami ng BIR at SSS payments (he he he). Hindi ka na nagsalita at hindi mo pa ako pinansin (che!). Basta mag-ingat ka lang. Stay connected.

Ang taas na ng BP at sugar ko dahil sa ulo ng baboy at coke. Anyways, miss those days at saka yung Joni's Bakeshop mo sa drawer. Akala ko pastries ang laman -- Columnar Notebooks at colored pens lang pala.

Si Jonnie, the best sa hosting job -- sino nga ba yung idol mo? Si Pepe Pimentel or si Kuya Germs? (Joke!) The best ka talaga sa mga parlor games kapag Christmas party at Mooncake Festival (Hay, kaantok nga eh!!) Seriously, isa ka sa mentor ko sa banking. Nung nag-resign ka, na buy-out si Far East Bank. Grabe, pa burger ka na!

Honestly, isa ka sa mga naging malaking character sa banking life ko. Ehem, ehem. Cartoon character ba ito? Nare-remember ko ng newly-hired at first time ko sa branch, si Jonnie ang nag greet sa akin, "Maligayang pagdating" to the tune of Count Dracula ng Sesame Street. Hindi ko alam kung wine-welcome mo ako or tinatakot sa magiging work ko. Makatarungan ba 'yun?

Remember mo ba mga parties natin sa branch na puro na lang ikaw ang master mind? Hmmp! Hmmp! In fairness, magaling ka naman talaga. Dapat naging coordinator ka na lang sa mga wedding, baptismal and even funeral(joke!). Hayy!

One game na remember ko -- pinahulaan nitong si Jonnie eh yung pirma ni Gabriel Singson na former BSP President. Akalain mo yun? Na-xerox mo mula sa pera Syempre, ako ang nakasagot!

At tama ba naman yun na pati ang pagkaka-bundol ko ng bicycle eh bigyan mo pa ng citation or recognition during the Christmas party?!!! As in, gave mo pa ako ng pagka-bongga bonggang certification! Hayy! Muntik ko na ngang maitapon!

O ano say mo? Super build-up ka na! May bayad 'to 'no? Treat mo uli ako sa Shakeys SM Marilao, ha? Sama natin si Mam Jay. Kain uli tayo ng ulo ng baboy -- he he he.

Anyways super haba na ng testimonial na 'to! Dapat mag-incur na ako ng service charge, hmp! Hindi pwede ang waive ha?!

So, paano? Jonnie's Bakeshop forever?! Parang nagutom ako dun!
